Since 1992 NIRS had not only grown in size but in the service provided to our customers. NIRS is serviced by KBSR with connections to CSX, UP, NS, TP&W and the CN. We are here to meet your railcar needs.

Founder/President

 

Alvin has worked over 50 years in the rail industry.  From car mechanic to foreman, to general manager for the ICRR,  Alvin has excelled and endeavored to meet the ever-changing needs.  He began his first rail shop in Magnolia, MS in 1986.  This led to his partnership with another former ICRR employee to establish NIRS to serve the Greater Chicago area and the world's Greatest Farming Community.

With over 25 years experience in the rail industry, David began working for Alvin at the Magnolia facility. When Alvin was seeking to increase NIRS's presence in the area in 2004, David volunteered to up-root his family and moved to Illinois to invest his and his families' future in the success of NIRS. He strives to provide top-notch service in an efficient manner, while staying abreast of ever-changing industry standards.

Asst. Manger/Purchaser

Aaron has over 10 years experience in the rail industry.  He has extensive knowledge of purchasing and shipping railcar parts.  He knows where parts are available and can get them to repair locations efficiently saving customers time and money.  He also is manager in charge on site when the Gen. Manager is overseeing mobile repairs so that quality control standards are always met at NIRS, whether at the home shop or on the road.
